Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter to all of you!  A quick update:  I started my oral chemotherapy a little over a week ago.  For the most part, I'm doing well and tolerating it nicely; however, I have had a bit of nausea which comes and goes.

I was at my doctor's office a few days ago (to get an injection) and I about passed out on my poor nurse.  I got very lightheaded and had to sit down and take it easy for a while.  It was a little bit embarrasing but it was either that or having them pick me up from off the floor and make me smell amonia (which thankfully they did not have to do).  Once it passed, I was fine and went on with the rest of my day.  I'm very thankful that for the most part I am tolerating the medicine well.  I know it could be much worse!!

I'm looking forward to our upcoming Europe trip.  I still have so much I need to do before we leave.  We have our airline tickets and hotels booked--only a few more days till I'm in Italy!!

I hope everyone that reads this blog has a wonderful Easter!  I'm very thankful that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, but more importantly that He rose again and is living in heaven!

"One Day"

One day when heaven was filled with his praises,
One day when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin—
Dwelt amongst men, my example is he!

Living, he loved me; dying, he saved me;
Buried, he carried my sins far away;
Rising, he justified freely, for ever:
One day he's coming—O, glorious day!

One day they led him up Calvary's mountain,
One day they nailed him to die on the tree;
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected:
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is he!

One day they left him alone in the garden,
One day he rested, from suffering free;
Angels came down o'er his tomb to keep vigil;
Hope of the hopeless, my Saviour is he!

One day the grave could conceal him no longer,
One day the stone rolled away from the door;
Then he arose, over death he had conquered;
Now is ascended, my Lord evermore!

One day the trumpet will sound for his coming,
One day the skies with his glories will shine;
Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing;
Glorious Saviour, this Jesus is mine!

Tomorrow's the day.....

My insurance approved the chemo drug and it arrived in the mail today so I will be starting tomorrow.  I will take it for 2 weeks then off 1 week, etc....  Pray that it will do it's job and reduce & get rid of the tumors in my liver without any major side effects.

I'll keep you posted.....

Update

Sorry it has been a while since I've updated my blog.  Thank you Lisa Marie for reminding me that I needed to do so!! :)

I had a good time in Mexico with my mom.  Treatments went well and I always seem to feel better when I am down there.  My doctor in Mexico and my oncologist here have both recommended that my protocol will change so I will be starting an oral chemotherapy as soon as it is approved by my insurance (I'm guessing I will start sometime this week--next week at the latest).  The last few days haven't been the greatest for me.  I get tired really easily, doing the simplest of tasks and I've been fighting a fever the last few days as well.  Thank you all for your continued prayers for me--specifically if you could pray that I would not feel tired and that my fevers would go away.  I just take one day at a time, continuing to ask the Lord to completely heal me.

On an exciting note, Simon and I have been planning a return trip to Europe with our good friends, Daniel & Ani.  We plan to leave the end of May (a happy birthday present to me) and will be going to Rome, Italy and Paris.  I am so excited!!  We booked our plane tickets this weekend!  Please pray that the chemo works well and that the side effects are minimal so I can go and enjoy the trip!!

Again, thank you all who have continued to faithfully uphold me in your prayers.  Especially on my worst days, I know that people have been praying for me--and that means so much to me & Simon.

Until next time.....
